Texas PSF Corporation Appoints a New Deputy Chief Investment Officer

The Texas Permanent School Fund Corporation (Texas PSF) has appointed Stu Bohart as its new Deputy Chief Investment Officer (CIO), signaling a strategic shift in its $52 billion endowment fund. In this capacity, Bohart will assume oversight of Strategic Partnerships and the Absolute Return portfolio, encompassing hedge funds, direct lending, special situations, and co-investment opportunities. His recruitment comes amid restructuring efforts led by newly appointed CEO and CIO, Bob Borden.

Bohart brings a wealth of asset management expertise to his new role, having previously served as co-head of the investment management division at Morgan Stanley and as the global head of the firm's prime brokerage business. With a background in portfolio management and operational leadership in alternative investment firms, he is well-equipped to drive operational efficiency and cultivate relationships with top-tier asset managers worldwide.

CEO Bob Borden expressed confidence in Bohart's appointment, citing his comprehensive experience across private equity, real estate, hedge funds, and asset allocation. Borden anticipates Bohart's contributions will enhance portfolio management and operational effectiveness across various asset classes while fostering stronger partnerships with leading asset managers globally. Bohart himself expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to collaborate with Borden and contribute to the development of a premier investment platform in support of the Texas public school system.
